The Return to LA Fitness: 2 Days Later...

Gym Location: Moscow Place, Paddington, Greater London W2, UK

LA Fitness Bayswater: http://www.lafitness.co.uk/gym/london-bayswater/

I returned to LA Fitness to use up the rest of my free 3 day pass... and to give it one more chance.

It was the 7th, 2 days later.

I made sure that I was early to beat the after work rush. Despite my early arrival, it was still quite crowded, at 2pm.

I eventually squeezed through and found myself enough space to use for my dead lifting. Unfortunately for the rest of the people there, I had to practically monopolise not only the space for the squat rack and then some, but about 1/3 of the 20kg plates in the room. I warmed up with quick set of 60kg for 10 reps, but when I started lifting 110kg (1 rep for 10 sets with 10 seconds rest), I found that quite a few people in the gym were just watching me... “Odd” I thought, it’s as if they’ve never seen a proper dead lift before. Even people larger or more muscular than me were enamoured by my lifts. Very strange...

It is worrying that people are paying lots of money to go to the gym without really knowing what t do once they get there.

There is more to weight lifting then just lifting weights.

Quite profound really, you can quote me if you like. (ha ha)

People just aren’t educated as to how to achieve what they want.

I think there are far too many people trying to sell misleading information to others who just don’t know better.

I think that strength and power movements are an invaluable part of every routine, be it for size, strength or endurance. More people need to be educated on the basics of physical culture before being let loose on the gym.
